Don’t limit yourself to eating the new Starbucks’ Impossible™ Breakfast sandwich just in the morning. While supplies last, the Impossible sandwich is a fantastic, savory meal any time of the day.

The sammie rang in at $4.95 plus any local tax. I felt like that was a good value (especially for lunch) because it was so filling.

Fair warning: This sandwich is NOT vegan! The plant-based sausage patty is accompanied by a cage-free fried egg and cheddar cheese, sandwiched between lightly toasted ciabatta bread.

As Starbucks’ first foray into plant-based food, the sausage sandwich joins current plant-based milk alternatives such as soy, coconut, almond, and oat milk.

Weighing in at 430 calories, the Impossible sandwich fares well against other Starbucks’ offerings, most notably its meat counterpart the sausage, cheddar and egg sandwich at 480 calories. See full nutritional information here.

The Impossible sausage patty is lightly seasoned with traditional breakfast sausage spices, including sage, thyme, onion, salt, and pepper. The flavor is mild, and is complimented by the cheddar cheese and slight nuttiness of the ciabatta bread.

The Impossible™ Breakfast sandwich hits the mark, and I look forward to seeing more expansive Impossible food options on the Starbucks’ menu!
